So I've watched this movie called 'Grind'. Okay people okay chill don't get the wrong idea I'm talking bout the skateboard movie here. I watched it almost immediately i downloaded it, even though I still got movies like My Bloody Valentine and Fighting waiting in my hard drive but yeah, its like after I watched Lords Of Dogtown that night, my interest for skateboards re-sparked(if there's such a word).
It was a really interesting movie which shows how a group of teens who wanna get sponsored try to travel across the country to follow a pro skater to view their demos and in turn sign them up for sponsors. Yeah. Had some pretty funny parts inside too, albeit some ridiculous scenes.
So I got so into skateboarding again I was starting to feel nostalgic and before I knew it, I downloaded THPS2 fr PC. It was my one of my fav games in PSX besides Twisted Metal 2 World Tour and Digimon Rumble Arena. But yeah, seeing the menu screen brings back so much memories of the good ol' days playing on my humble PSX with my EPIC pink translucent GameShark™ controller.
Okay so remember one of my previous posts where I said that technology kills? The one with the twitter related death? Well, just so happens technology can save lives too! DUH. Alright, not trying to be Captain Obvious here, but I'm talking bout miraculously saving lives.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1194120/Saved-iPod-Girl-survives-lightning-strike-wire-diverts-300-000-volts.html
Taken from website,
"A teenage girl survived a terrifying lightning strike after she was saved by the wire of her iPod.
Schoolgirl Sophie Frost and her boyfriend Mason Billington, both 14, stopped to shelter under a tree when a storm struck as they were walking near their homes.
Doctors believe Sophie survived the 300,000-volt surge only because it travelled through the gadget’s wire, diverting it away from her vital organs."
So they believed the 300,000 volts of electricity ran through her ipod wire and saved her life? Thats kinda fucked up.
Okay so I did a bit of google-ing and found out actually volts dont kill you but its the amphere that does. Something like that. Apparently around 20 mA can kill a person if it goes through the heart. But. technically speaking any voltage over 40V is considered lethal.
Lethal huh? Its 40 V is considered lethal, then the 300,000 volts is just one big motherfucker. And she survived it, thanks to her iPod classic. Thats like the best thing iPod has done in years. Whats more, the interview revealed that her iPod was given to her by her grandma only a few days before lightning days. However I seriously doubt this information as I firmly believe grandparents are evil and there to kill you.
On a side note, played the new Transformers game. Was much much better than the first game but theres still room to improve. Perhaps its because my torrent-ed version doesnt include multiplayer. Well that sucks.
Oh and I found this amazing video and song.
Pretty cool huh? Its stuck in my head now. Damn earworms.
