Well found out maybe violent games does bring about violent tendencies. No, I'm not talking about getting a M4 and blasting the shit outta people in the streets while yelling "ZOMBIEZ!!" at the top of your voice. No, that would be ridiculous.
I'm talking about Left4Dead of course. You know, that zombie killing game where players fight their way throughout places like streets, farm or the sewers. Ew. But yeah, in case you've been a hermit your whole life, here's a rough idea of the game. You play as one of the four antagonists in the game. These four are, a college girl (Zoey), Vietnam war veteran (Bill), a gang biker (Francis) and an office worker (Louis). These four survivors do what the United States army failed to do. Kill Zombies. Hell lot of 'em.
When the army has failed us. We can totally count on these dudes. No problem. So I was just sitting there in the LAN shop, playing L4D with them when a boomer pops out and we kinda shouted and blasted our guns. People who got the boomer bile would curse and swear at whoever that was listed as the one who killed the boomer. The thing is, when the boomer appeared, everyone had the intention to kill it, and no one remembered about the bile. However the person with the fastest reflexes get to be blamed for killing it and releasing the boomer bile.
One starts to get vulgar when things don't go his/her way. For example, lets say one person sees a witch in the distance. Lets say this person, against warnings of fellow team-mates, proceeds to shoot the witch, at the same time causing chaos. Lets say this person gets pinned down by the witch. The team-mates try desperately to help him, melee-ing off the hordes of zombies and releasing every shell and bullet in the direction of the witch. However due to the zombies few of the bullets actually hit the witch. The guy who was pinned down died immediately. Lets say he/she starts getting ugly and pushing his team-mates and cursing them with vulgarities and blaming the demise of his character on his 'incompetent team-mates'. The thing here is, who asked the person to shoot that damned witch in the first place.
While that was a different case, I did realize that throughout the 3 hours of gaming, I did threw out more expletives than I usually would in an entire day. And somehow, you feel kinda good shouting all that. Mind you I do not advocate Hokkien vulgarities like CB or KNNB or whatever words those gangsters can mix-and-match with.
So yeah my post-promo weekend had its yeas and nays. Nays are like trying shitty rpg games outta boredom and Yeas are like BBQ parties at lavish condos. However I also found out that self-proclaimed wine tolerance had hit its all time low. Only after two bottles of a mere 5% alcohol booze and I had a throbbing headache. Perhaps I was just not meant for such joys in life.
On a side note, watched the movie 'Taken' at Melissa's house. Well the movie was unexpectedly good. Yeah it sure had its plot holes and goofs but the overall picture was action-packed and kept my mind off that headache for a good one and a half hour.
Really wanted to watch Star Trek also but even after drinking shots after shots of Chinese tea, my headache still did not subside. Ended up falling asleep at around 2.30 am? Couldn't really remember what happened exactly but from what I was told by Jackson and Melissa, I was singing in my sleep. Yeah. Like wtf. I don't sing.
Post promo aint really that exciting after all. All the promised events and planned activites seemed only like a good but cleverly presented demo of a bad game. What happened to World Of Warcraft, what happened to Just Acia, what happened to Brand New Eyes. What the fuck. I seriously need to go Citylink soon. Gotta get my hands on that amazing album by Wednesday. Heard there was some Sentosa chalet planning going on but alas, I bet some of our class members must be studying their JC2 stuff by now and saying "Sorry I can't make it, got to study for prelims and A levels."
Learnt a lot of stuff this weekend too. Learnt as in finding out the truth about some people and discovered what masks some of them are putting on. No, for all the Bleach fans out there, the masks are not referring to Vaizards.
