Look again.

I'm gonna approach a matter with a rather grim attitude. No, not because I have to book in to camp in 3 hours not that. But rather something I've noticed which I can relate to.

Take a look at this

You're probably thinking 'damn, Adele's such a badass. And it's so true, so does make amazing music.'

Which is what I thought too.

I mean, after all, both of us, Adele and I, we ain't so different. We both have amazing voices (it's true, really) and we both are overweight. That aside, I'd like to point out one line, 'I don't make music for eyes, I make music for ears.'

Pretty spot-on, at first look.

But if you think about it, doesn't really make much sense.

No one makes music for eyes, since our eyes can't 'hear'. That's axiomatic. Just because someone is attractive doesn't mean they cannot make good music. Why do you think pop songs include so many 'hooks' in them? And I ain't talking about the music videos, I'm referring to the riffs, choruses, the tune. Obviously, to attract people, with the sound. When we say a song is catchy it's because we are caught by those 'hooks' and find it to be interesting. And that's basically what music is about. For everyone.

And why the attack on Katy Perry? It's not like Katy Perry isn't a decent singer.

'That's not what my music is about.'

Oh so is Katy Perry singing about bums and boobs now? Not that I remember. What is Adele's music about? Love? Troubles?

Doesn't seem to be much of a difference as compared to other people. Hell, even Justin Bieber sings about love, albeit he doesn't understand shit about it.

Katy Perry easily has a few love songs to her name. So while she's enjoying her fame and fortune along with her pop songs

Music isn't just pure auditory, it needs visual too. That's why we have music videos.

Now let's take a moment to see another picture,

What do we have here. Another statement by her. Now if at this point you're thinking I have something against this woman, I don't. I think she's brilliant, her music is good. But I have a point to make, so just bear with me.

So once again, we can see her criticizing other people for their music. Nicole Richie. Apparently she makes a shitty album because well, she is skinny. My dear, Nicole made a shitty album because her singing is shitty. You make a good album because you have talent. That's why you can sing so well. Also, reputation helps a lot. Although only to a certain extent, as Amy Winehouse has shown us, one can still make good music even when breaking the law.

That aside, she also speaks of 'loving food, hating exercise...no time to workout.'

Because she's a singer.

How about that.

That is just superficial and naive.
Exercise isn't just about making yourself look good so you can appear on Vogue. Let's not even talk about her being on Playboy cause no one wants to see that shit. Anyway, it's about being healthy.

Look at Gwen Stefani, she has an amazing voice, makes good music, and still has abs that put most of my Sergeants to shame.

If she truly cared about making good music, she should instead forget about constantly trying to put people down, stop smoking and start concentrating on singing.

So stop saying stuff like your aim in life is never to be skinny. It's only making you look stupid.

You may think it makes you seem as if you only cared about your music. If you were, stop wearing a shit ton of makeup.

Good music isn't a reason for being fat. To me it just seems like an excuse to be lazy and not exercise.

I'm saying all this because I feel like I could relate. I was like her.

I constantly told myself and people around me that I don't care if I'm unattractive or fat. That it's not like I'm looking for a girlfriend. That I'm in the army and it would look after my health.

That I'm cool as the badass I am and don't give a fuck what other people think.

Well I've lying.

I want people to look at me in respect and say, that's a man who takes care of his health.

I do want a girlfriend. And I ain't going to get one weighing 170 pounds and sitting on my ass all day.

Just by grabbing that low fat milk, juice with 'no sugar added' or chips with no trans fat isn't going to help.

I have to work for it.

After all, I will be a Sergeant soon, and I have to set an example. Being a chubby dude and calling people to do pushups isn't exactly right.

On a side note,

Taiwan was fun. At least the one and a half days of R&R. It has come to my attention that Singapore girls having rather boring fashion sense compared to our Taiwanese counterparts.

I'm not saying all of us vs all of them. Just that our population of ah lians is making people look bad with their shorts and tank top combi. And I have seen Singaporean girls that dress up very well. Don't get me wrong.

As for guys, seems to me like its almost international for the teeshirt, bermudas and slippers set. Everyone's comfortable.

And everyone's happy.

P.S. Their fried chicken and bubble tea is insanely good. Of course, you'll have to know which are the good ones.
