So while booking the flight tickets we remembered that we had to send passport info first.
It was then that I realized that my passport had expired and I had to renew it.
Initially I thought it would be a piece of cake. Probably take like a day to get it done.
However I realized I mistook extend for renew. Extend's where guys who have not enlist go to extend their passport validity, usually for another 2 years and it takes only a few hours to get it done.
Renew is where it gets anal and one has to submit shitloads of documents and process takes up to few weeks.
Fuck.
Obviously I began to rush through everything up till a point where they asked me for my NRIC date of issue.
What the fuck.
So I took a look at my 11B; zilch, doesn't say anything.
I thought and went online to check if NSFs had similar problems. They did, and they say you should check with ICA or SAF.
I checked with ICA, they told me to check with respective units.
Called company COS, says he couldn't find, don't blame him - Sergeant Major's desktop is a mess.
Called SAF, they told me that they couldn't help me since they're not at liberty to disclose that information and to check if I could remember noting it down anywhere, which is basically saying they're lazy to check and telling me to fuck off.
Racked my brains.
Panicking, at this moment.
Remembered that when I first collected my NRIC from the school receptionist there was another slip of paper that came with it.
Looks at the piles of paper in my room.
Time for some digging.
Spent hours flipping through everything.
Finally found an old stash of priceless documents, including that slip of paper, still in pristine condition.
With the issue date on it. /fuckyeah
Went ahead and complete my application, but not without a few problems with the photo uploading.
Piece of shit system keeps hanging. Finally after an afternoon, got my application done.
Thank god for me being such a hoarder, finally my habits have some use.
Realized I'm now typing like the guys at 4chan.
My god this has to stop.
