Alright back to topic. First, lemme just say that my CCA the Guitar Ensemble, has achieved a first at the annual Guitar Competition, beating out other top Guitar Ensembles like SAC and also ACJC which is a niibori Guitar Ensemble. They played Lotus Eaters and Jalouise, which were both great songs but well I guess they're more of candy for the audience, rather than the judges, who mentioned that one of the winning points was visualization, which we took quite seriously.
Not only that, but our Ensemble's President also clinched a first place as the Best Conductor for the night!
WoW.
I adore my CCA.
I am SO glad I joined Guitar Ensemble stead of Shooting, which was my second choice. Phew....
Initially I was gonna rant about the school, about how it never gave us much support yet wanting to ninja our Trophies and prize money, using us as their very own pedestal for glory. However I just received word yesterday that they had decided to return us 50% of the prize money, as well as subsidize our competition fee of 15 bucks per person. Now it's not a lot, but at least they're not taking everything. So I guess we shall let the matter rest.
In other news, had ensemble practice yesterday. Which turned out to be one of the best CCA practices I've had in long time. Well the sectionals were okay I guess, since I come early for practices most of the time I had extra time to learn the new pieces, and by now I kinda got the songs more or less, albeit not yet mastering the chords of El Bimbo. But I'll work on it no problem.
Well, the fun part was after the practice. See we have this concert coming up in May, and its called 'Vivace!'. And uhh we're kinda like filming this introduction video and I was supposed to be one of the 3 students who were trying to find an auspicious date and venue for the concert. (22nd May at TPJC Audithorium yay!)
So yeah, one of scenes involved us thinking of what to eat for lunch (I think), and someone would mention the Pizzahut's Viva pizza. Followed by me going "Viva? Cheh....that one not nice lah..."
Geddit? Geddit geddit?? Vi-Va-Cheh = Vivace!
Absolutely genius. Thanks to the scriptwriter and director Cheryl lawl.
Oh and after that Eugene was supposed to check his iphone for the definition of Vivace, which means Lively. And my character will go into spasm mode, breaking out into a epic cool 3 second dance to 'denote' the liveliness.
Hell it was funny alright, and embarrassing. But, I love my CCA and this is just a small sacrifice. Besides there aren't many people watching anyways, so I guess its not that bad.
Well it was a fun experience, especially seeing Dominic wearing the yellow banner as a robe since he was acting as a fortune teller who uses rubber balls to see future and SNSD cards to predict.
Win.
In fact I think I had such a great time that I was so sapped of my energy to the point when I reached home, I took a shower and after 10min of using the computer, I could not take it and fell asleep. All the way from 8pm to 3.30 am in the morning.
Great.
As if wasting the Fri night and being the only one online isn't bad enough, I totally missed an epic 3 hour conversation on msn. One filled with talks of scandals in the ensemble and whatnot.
Oh well, at least Jay sent me the file and I spent nearly 30min reading the whole thing.
Alright its getting pretty late, 3.33 pm (wow) and I'm supposed to meet my friend at the airport to study at 5pm. It may seem like a lot of time to y'all but given that I have a PhD in Procrastination, I might have to hurry.
So I'm gonna end this post quick with a video that the boys of our class took during one of our breaks. What happened was we had extra time and decided to go do some pullups at the MPH. However Jackson and Shaun suddenly broke into some Para Para Sakura dance and I just had to film it.
Do watch out for Jackson's attempt at a common 'martial art' move in the video.
I know I laugh like a jackass in the video, forgive me.
Till next time guys,
Later.
