Well, seems like its been quite awhile since I last blogged.
So basically, OP finished, and now life is somewhat reduced to sitting in front of com and stone. Of course, it is partly due to my COD:MW2 slow download speed.
We did have some fun on thur at least. Went to celebrate Cheryl's birthday at Marine Square and watched Paranormal Activity.
I wouldn't say it's the scariest movie of all time. In fact I think this was due to me having high expectations that were fueled by the hype. It was kinda over-rated, but it's still an enjoyable film overall. I loved concept of it, the story, the build-up and suspense. All the aspects just kinda blended together immaculately and created a realistic and believable picture. However, IMHO, the whole effort of the director was killed by the ending scene. Which I wouldn't reveal as I believe many have not watched it yet.
Also I read somewhere that this ending was not the original idea, and was director was told to change to this ending by Steven Spielberg himself. Well if the ending was truly created by Steven Spielberg that man may have just lost his magic. It seems like the whole realistic approach was suddenly all a big lie, due to the last scene being too Hollywood-ian.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the ending, it was well played and organized and I was only talking about the very last scene.
I also seen the original ending that the director filmed. It was better in terms of realism, and induces a form of hopelessness in you. On the other hand, it did lack a bit of scare provided by the Spielberg ending. :D
I think mainly the movie served well because of the actors, who did really convince me that they are a couple and perhaps because of that the audience kinda felt for them.
Overall, it was a pretty fun and exciting ride, and managed to deliver a convincing situation that kinda kept me interested enough to hold that pee in me and endure till the end. I would give a 8/10. Still, that's just my 2 cents.
Oh and on a side note, I watched it in the afternoon and thought it wasn't really that scary. However, that night, I was alone in the living room while evryone was asleep, and as I was reading the forums of that show, somehow I was reminded of it and whenever I heard sounds behind me, I was like 'Shit should I turn around...'
That effect had ceased to exist though. haha.

Played LAN with Jackson and Melissa that other day which was actually one week ago. I got beaten at every level by Melissa.
Omg lah. And I call myself part of a L4D clan. She actually killed more boomers and zombies than me. I DID kill more smokers and got more headshots though...lol.
But still, being beaten by a chick at a manly game was just embarrassing. However, I would sink myself into the believe that this was all due to me not touching that game for over 7 months. While all this time she had been playing it. :D
After all, guys are natural gamers, especially with FPS. Hell, even my good friend who is into tennis and ahem, high piched singing, rocks pretty much at Wolfteam too. Guess its just in our DNA. haha.
I did gain back my pride later on though, albeit not using my com for about 3 weeks due to a fried mobo. It happened in Counter-Strike, where because we only had 3 ppl, Jackson and Melissa teamed up against me.
(BEWARE: SELF PRAISE AHEAD)
So first we played Iceworld, where I pretty much owned and I had like 16 frags and 2 deaths. Yeah. Maybe they just haven't warm up enough, you might say, which I might agree.
But after about few mins in Iceworld, we switched over to CS_assault. There they took terrorist and I was CT. Armed with a Carbine and DEagle, I rambo-ed into the warehouse.
Final score before we ended was like 18 frags and 2 deaths.
I hope Jackson and Melissa aren't reading this post. Lol.
I also want to add, that despite these scores, when I'm playing with my homies from Dunman, I'm considered average only. Usually with Wei Long and Lincoln above me.
Just sayin'. *Shrugs*
